Route Description
Amtrak’s Lincoln Service follows the route of the Texas Eagle through the state of Illinois from Chicago to St. Louis.
The service runs twice daily in both directions. Train 301 that departs Chicago at 7:00 a.m. does not stop at all of the stations described in this guide.
The Lincoln Service and Texas Eagle utilize the rail corridor for which the State of Illinois was granted $1.23 M in 2010 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds for the development of a high speed rail line between Chicago and St. Louis.
The approximate rail travel distance between Chicago and St. Louis on the Lincoln Service is 285 miles. The rail travel time is between 5 and 6 hours.
