Numbers 16-24 on the map represent the California Zephyr's normally scheduled stops between Denver, Colorado and Salt Lake City, Utah. When route maintenance or other reasons prevent Amtrak from using the normal route, the train is sometimes detoured through Wyoming. The detour is shown in blue on the above map.

The stations along the normal route that are bypassed when the Wyoming detour is in effect include 17-Fraser, CO (Winter Park); 18-Granby, CO; 19-Glenwood Springs, CO; 20-Grand Junction, CO; 21-Green River, UT; 22-Helper, UT; and 23-Provo, UT.
