Major League Baseball by Train

With opening day of the 2011 Major League Baseball season right around the corner, Rail Passenger USA has prepared a special route guide for baseball fans.

The guide contains resources to assist in planning intercity rail travel to the major league cities and a wealth of information describing the ballparks, the major intercity railroad stations and the territory in between.

Whether you want to make that long awaited dream pilgrimage to all of the stadiums or just attend a game or two versus a nearby rival team, this guide will help you plan your rail journey to the level of detail that best suits your needs.

It is loaded with ballpark and local train station information. For example, detailed station-to-ballpark walking maps, transit maps and driving maps, as applicable, are included for each of the 30 major league cities.

Many of the ball parks are within walking distance of the train station and most are within a 10 mile radius; just a short local bus, train or subway ride away. Only a handful are a bit more difficult to get to.

Click on one of the maps below to see examples of the walking and transit maps included in our newest guide.

For ballpark information, we've utilized MLB.com and the expertise of a couple of fellows who make a habit of visiting ballparks around the country and sharing their experience with others on the web; Graham Knight of BaseballPilgrimages.com and Joe Mock of BASEBALLPARKS.COM.
